SHIPS: Seismic Hazards Investigation in Puget Sound

Puget Sound Shaking Hazard

One reason to conduct seismic surveys is that deep earth features can focus earthquake energy at the surface thereby causing locally intense shaking. Seismic surveys can reveal these features and delineate surface areas that have relatively greater risk.
