05_11_04 Geospeakers Meeting Summary"The Special Favorite Book Day" T'was not so long ago a day We had simply to take a look We read passages of all sorts Cynthia- "How to read like a professor" (Foster)- we really all have only one story to be told. Mitch- "Civil Disobediance" (Thoreau)- Quit your job. Don't support the man! Stephanie-"Kitchen Table Wisdom" (Reimann)- story about a woman in a dress in an earthquake who arouses passion Ann-"Anne of Green Gables" (Montgomery)- Matthew and Anne's trenchant buggy ride Chris- "Ramona the Pest" (Cleary)- a young girl's wayward journey as she loses a tooth and "boings" a classmate Brandie- "Little house in the big woods" (Wilder)- encountering a bear along a road, alone at night, like what happened to me about a year ago... ***welcome back Brandie!!!**** Gretchen- "Voyage of the Beagle" (Darwin)- reading from Chuck's various selections and a tale of an earthquake in Chile. I wonder why we all choose to read about earthquakes? Oh right! We're the Geospeakers! Carol- "When we were very young" (Milne)- Tigger and Roo and Kanga learn what Tiggers can do Shane- moving on... Joanna- "Peter Pan in Kensington garden" (Barrie)- If you believe in me, clap everyone! I can't hear you! Clap! (Wait, was that in the story?) No awards. None needed. See you all next week! |
