Equipment Used
multibeam
multibeam
pistoncore
gravitycore
boxcore
Purpose
Collect giant piston cores (up 50 m long) to determine the lateral
distribution of gas and gas hydrate- in basin sediments with ambiguous gas
hydrate indicators at depth, and near known hydrate accumulations.
The images group will collect giant piston cores to understand the mechanisms
and consequences of climatic changes.

Information to be Derived
Pore water geochemistry, gas geochemistry, hydrocarbon geochemistry,
environmental geochemistry, seismic stratigraphy.
Summary
43 cores taken. 485 pore water samples taken from 25 cores.
Notes
Cores archived at University of Southern Florida: 2550, 2551.Cores archived in
France: 2533, 2534, 2548, 2549, 2552, 2558,2574, 2575, and 2576. Cores archived
at Texas A&M: all remaining.
