          Surface thickness --- 32 cm
          Sediment texture --- Coarse well sorted sand and little or no mud.  A few
               pebbles.
          Sedimentary surface features ---Ripples.
          Most abundant living fauna --- An amphipod, worm, Lo-clam.
          Paleontologic observation --- Hydrozoa, fragments of barnacles, Yolinda,
               Astarte, M. subgareilis.
          Bivalve shells were oriented --- Concave.
          Red granite --- No.
          Additional comments --- Very few barnacles.  Largest of the 3 samples had the  
               lowest diversity, smallest pebbles and the least shell.  Core described by M.  
               Colgan.  Core recorded by G. Redden.
