Understand the geologic evolution of the coast and inner continental
shelf and by investigating the subsurface sediment facies present on the
underlying carbonate platform.

Information to be Derived
|
Grain size, calcium carbonate conetent and total organic
content for all cores. Select smaples mineralogy by XRD analysis and
age dating by carbon 14 or Sr-isotope ratio.

Summary
|
123 cores collected and analyzed from Oct. 1994 to Sept. 1997. 20 cores
collected in association with the USGS 1996 portion of the project.
