Purpose
Biological Task Force (BTF) monitoring cruise. The
program is designed to gather and analyze data in order to establish
baseline levels of activity and to monitor the deposition and accumulation
of potentially toxic drilling material and any subsequent effect of such
activity on the benthic biota.
Information to be Derived
Samples and Chemical Analysis
Summary
Sediment samples: 32.
Notes
	 days at sea.
Data types: Photos, salinity measurements, dissolved oxygen
measurements, grab samples (for trace metals, organic geochemistry, and
benthic biological studies)

The Biological Task Force comprises representatives from
USGS, BLM, NOAA, EPA, and USFWS. Info from BAMG Quarterly Report, final
project report and other sources; no post-cruise report found. Revised
6/22/2009 by A. Orton for R. Rendigs.
