Purpose
Exchange long term moorings, collect sediment cores, obtain oxygen
profiles within surface sediment, collect horse mussels using SCUBA from rocky
bottoms near outfall, deploy benthic chambers to measure fluxes of dissolved
constituents in sediment-pore waters.
Information to be Derived
Times series data; Samples and Chemical Analysis; Grain size analysis;
Suspended Sediment Concentrations; Oxygen profiles fluxes of dissolved
constituents in pore waters.
Summary
All moorings were successfully replaced. Time series sediment trap
did not rotate. Slow corer worked perfectly 8 for 8. Oxygen profiler used 2X at
station 3 and 1 X at station 2. Two benthic chambers deployed at station 3.
Divers (Dann Blackwood and Michael Casso) collected 10 horse mussels and a few
braciopods and one bolder covered with coraline algae and other organisms at
MWRA station T4-4. Dive plan was filled out by D. Blackwood. 3 stations
occupied.
