Purpose
Collection of pore and surface waters to understand the pH ranges and pCO2
variability which are integral in the ocean acidification projects
Information to be Derived
Porewater samples are collected at various depths in the carbonate sediments to
determine the location of the Redox boundary. This boundary varies with
temperature, wave dynamics, etc. Samples are analyzed for pCO2 and alkality
which are used in understanding the role that ocean acidification has on
carbonate (reef) development/dissolution.
Summary
Samples were collected and pH analyses completed on site. Nutrient, pCO2
analyses are in queue for analyses.
