Title:
Video data of field activity K-1-09-WO in Puget Sound from 05/03/2009 to 05/11/2009
Abstract:
United States Geological Survey, Pacific Science Center. Chief Scientist: Guy Cochrane. Video data of field activity K-1-09-WO in Puget Sound from 05/03/2009 to 05/11/2009, <http://walrus.wr.usgs.gov/infobank/k/k109wo/html/k-1-09-wo.meta.html>.
Supplemental_Information:

Notes -
PHOTOS</b>
<br>
Still photos were acquired from a remotely operated digital camera
mounted on a towed camera sled. Photos were taken at the top of
every minute, and when significant features were noted. Photos in
this KML are reduced to 1/4 of the original resolution.
<hr>
<b>BATHYMETRY AND SHADED RELIEF</b>
<br>
Shaded relief and bathymetry were generated from multibeam
bathymetry data collected in 2001-2002 (survey H11039), downloaded
from <http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/mgg/bathymetry/hydro.html>.
Illumination azimuth is 300 degrees with an angle of 45 degrees
from horizontal. Pixel resolution is 5 meters.
<hr>
<b>VIDEO OBSERVATIONS</b>
<br>
Video observations were initiated at the top of each minute
(startOfEnt field) and recorded for the first ten seconds of each
minute.
<br>
This feature class has the following fields:
<ul>
<li>StartofEnt: (UTC) Date when the entry was created
<li>Time: (UTC) Time when the entry was created
<li>Latitude: Latitude of observation
<li>Longitude2: Longitude of observation
<li>Heading: Ship heading at time of observation
<li>Course: Course (over ground) at time of observation
<li>LogEntry: Information recorded in digital log
<li>Req1: Primary substrate
<li>Req2: Secondary substrate
<li>Req3: Slope category
<li>Req4: abiotic complexity
<li>Req5: biotic complexity
</ul>
<p>
biology fields -
<p>
The following fields record biota identified in video observations
along this trackline. a zero indicates no observation, while a 1
indicates an observation. Biota categories observed along for
camera line 17 & 18 include:
<ul>
<li>anemon_sol
<li>bivalve
<li>bryozoan
<li>drift_weed
<li>fish
<li>fish_a
<li>hydroid
<li>kelp
<li>shell_scat
<li>tube_worm
<li>tunicate
<hr>
<b>LOG ENTRIES</b>
<br>
Log entries record data entered into the electronic log. These
entries typically record events not captured otherwise, such as
start and end of tracklines, start and end of tapes, and other
events.
<hr>
<b>SHIP TRACKLINE</b>
<br>
Shows the ship's track during the period when camera and video data
were collected.
