Purpose
Part of the continuing project to assess the content of methane in continental
shelf waters of the Alaskan Beaufort Sea. We are looking for evidence for
methane release from destabilized gas hydrate.
Summary
Fifteen stations were occupied and 48 water samples were analyzed for methane.
Our results hint at a methane anomaly at stations near the 20m isobath.
