Purpose
|
To monitor water and sediment from 10 beach sites for the presence of
sewage indicator organisms; to use the information gained to address issues of
sediment resuspension of pathogens for future models; to test the utility of a
new indicator organism.

Information to be Derived
|
Counts of sewage indicator organisms: Fecal coliforms, Enterococci,
Aeromonas, and Clostridium perfringens. Total bacterial direct counts and grain
size analysis of the sediment.
