Our transcription: The cell structure of stromatolites, and all early life forms, was very simple, a structure biologists call "prokaryotic." Prokaryote cells duplicate by splitting into exact replicas of themselves. Later in the fossil record, more complex "eukaryotic" cell structure appears. Eukaryotes reproduce sexually, resulting in variations in newly created cells. Most modern life forms, including animals, are eukaryotic.
