Our transcription: But terraces can also indicate other types of regional change.
For example, if the climate grows drier, a river will shrink in size.
Rather than carrying away sediments from surrounding slopes, the shrinking stream will eat into its own sedimentary deposits created in wetter times.
Gradually terraces form.
