Our transcription: Where groundwater flows out through an opening to the surface, as for example along a joint or a fault, springs form.

Most springs flow year round, even through the long hot months of summer when they might be expected to dry up.

This is because the water that comes out of the ground in the summer may well have started its journey the previous winter.
