Our transcription: Glaciers also preserve evidence of human impact on the atmosphere.

Since the start of the Industrial Revolution, the levels of carbon dioxide, sulfate, and other pollutants have sharply increased in glacial ice.

The Industrial Revolution, which has been attributed to occurring in the early 1800's, 1820's, 1830's produced a major change in the gaseous composition of the atmosphere.

This was brought about primarily by fossil fuel, high sulfur content fossil fuel consumption, coal, soft coal, and the productivity of the factories and what have you.
