Description
  Subroutine to display messages across the bottom of the screen using PLOT10

  character handling subroutines. 
       
COMMENTS
  It keeps track of messages already displayed so that messages are not 

  over-printed. If the message is already displayed then that message is 
  underlined. Up to two lines of messages can be displayed across the bottom 
  of the screen. This subroutine is called by and is internal to GRAPHED. It 
  is also called by the following GRAPHED subroutines: draw, showdeleted, 
  restoreseg, deleteseg, restore, delete, showxy.
    
TO_USE
  call screenmessage (amessage)

  Input:
    amessage - character string of any length to be displayed (recommend not
               longer than 80 characters)
