This is a Point data set.
It contains the following vector data types (SDTS terminology):
- What coordinate system is used to represent geographic features?
Horizontal positions are specified in geographic coordinates, that is, latitude and longitude.
Latitudes are given to the nearest 0.00001.
Longitudes are given to the nearest 0.00001.
Latitude and longitude values are specified in Decimal degrees.
The horizontal datum used is North American Datum of 1927.
The ellipsoid used is Clarke 1866.
The semi-major axis of the ellipsoid used is 6378206.4.
The flattening of the ellipsoid used is 1/294.98.

Edited based on instructions from Ray Sliter, 2/9/2011:
Two lines from this cruise crossed over the 180 degree line and somehow the nav was lost.
The only option we had was to digitize the extensions of these lines over 180.
Please update your "best file" in the "seis" directory for this cruise.
the new files that need to be added to the master navigation are here:
/we/ray/nav/line001B_digi.nav (new digitized portion)
/we/ray/nav/line023B_digi.nav (new digitized portion)
/we/ray/nav/w1174bs_77-001B.nav (whole line)
/we/ray/nav/w1174bs_77-013B.nav (whole line)

these fixes were digitized from MAP_28-1.tif
converted to decimal degrees and UTM1N (meters) Ray Sliter 9/3/2009
