Purpose
To study the conditions that transport sediment back on to the beaches near
Grays Harbor, Washington. Collection of nearshore bathymetry using a second
generation coastal profiling system. Collection of beach morphology data using a
6-wheeled amphibious buggy equipped with GPS and also a backpack mounted GPS
system. Collection of surface sediment grab samples.

Information to be Derived
Nearshore bathymetry, beach morphology, grain size
Summary
Nearshore bathymetry and beach morphology data were collected
in conjunction oceanographic data during the summer of 2001.
Bathymetry data were collected monthly at Ocean Shores, WA.
Morphology data were collected weekly at Ocean Shores, WA.
Surface sediment samples were collected in both the nearshore and on the beach.
Oceanographic data have usgs activity id t1-01-w
