Equipment Used

Purpose
Collect adult post-spawn river herring leaving Oyster Pond
via Trunk River for analysis of mercury.
Information to be Derived
Samples and Chemical Analysis
Concentrations of mercury in fish
Summary
Herring were not present in Trunk River during the time we
were sampling. A few specimens of mummichogs and other small fish
were collected. Since these other fish are not the main focus of
the study, they will be analyzed only if time and manpower is
available.

Notes
1 day at sea.
Navigation technique: none
Occupied 1 station.
Herring migration out of Oyster Pond is not continuous. On
this occasion we did not match the migration with our sampling
effort.
