Box Core Descriptions

Samples of dredged material in Mamala Bay were collected with a box corer. From these cores we are learning about the physical and chemical nature of the material and how it affects seafloor fauna. Click on a numbered sample below to view a graphical description of the box core sample including sediment type, texture and other sediment components. Also included are location descriptions and water depth of sampling station.
