Surface Profiles of Mamala Bay Seafloor

Selected computer generated bathymetric profiles of the insular shelf and slope of Mamala Bay. The bathymetric and backscatter data shown on this image is compiled from georeferenced 30 KHz multibeam sonar data collected by the USGS in 1998. Vertical resolution of the data is on the order of 50 cm; horizontal resolution is dependent upon water depth and varies from 6 to 16 m.
