GIS Data & Metadata

Each GIS data file is listed with a brief description, small image, metadata files, and downloadable file. The data were compiled in ArcMap (detailed information on version is provided on each data catalog page or link below). Raster data layers are registered TIFF. Point, line and polygon features are in shapefile format.

The downloadable files have been compressed with the "zip" command and can be unzipped with Winzip, (or other tool) on Windows systems. The .zip file for a TIFF image includes the image (.tif), the world registration file (.tfw), and the text (.txt) metadata. The .zip for a shapefile includes a .aux, .dbf, .shp, .shx, .sbx, and .sbn file, and the metadata .txt file. Each area also includes a compressed (with the "zip" command) version of the ArcMap document (mxd).
