Probably the most confusing electrical connection challenge is also the standard for most serial navigation devices. While the RS-232C standard is well defined, many vendors have adopted their own interpretation leaving the systems integrator to often use the trial and error method. When configuring a new device with YoNav the following items are invaluable:
The serial RS-232 connector is either a male 9-pin D-Sub connector, as shown below

or a male DB-25 connector as shown below:
