Ofunato, Iwate Prefecture

Ofunato Bay is another north-south trending embayment and natural harbor at the southern end of Iwate Prefecture. Photographs here show a seaside facility near the entrance to Ofunato Bay. The post-tsunami aerial image, taken 12 March 2011, shows extensive damage to the harbor facilities shown in the photos (aerial photo courtesy of Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI)).
