The Monterey Bay Marine GIS User Group held a Marine Geospatial Ecology Tools (MGET) one-day workshop to support GIS training for our members. The workshop was held July 20, 2012 at the CSUMB Chapman Science Academic Center in Seaside, CA.

MGET is a free, open-source collection of geoprocessing tools designed for researchers, resource managers, and conservation practitioners. MGET plugs into ArcGIS and can be invoked from many programming environments as well. The toolbox is modular and diverse, with 300 tools that are useful in a wide variety of scenarios. In this workshop, Jason Roberts, MGET's lead developer, led participants in a habitat modeling exercise that explored some of MGET's most popular tools.
