CoSMoS 2.2: Pt. Arena and Russian River

In progress

Location map of Point Arena and Russian River work.

Above: Pt. Arena study area

In conjunction with the NOAA’s Habitat Blueprint project addressing climate adaptation along the Sonoma Coast, CoSMoS will be implemented north of Bodega Bay to Pt. Arena, focused on several watershed areas including the Gualala, Guerneville, Garcia and Russian rivers. Scenarios and overall methods for determining flood hazards will remain consistent with CoSMoS 2.0 used in OCOF.

Recent LiDAR data (2014) within the Russian River watershed will be incorporated into the high-resolution Digital Elevation Model used in projecting local storm hazards.
