Paleotsunami field mapping Central CA
Information to be Derived
Determine the possibility of paleotsunami deposits in selected sites.
We plan on going to additional sites in California
later this year and next year . Sat., Oct 22: travel day to Cayucos
(overnight in Cayucos), Sun, Oct 23, Morro Bay State Parks marshes
(overnight in Cayucos), Mon, Oct 24, Morro Bay
Audubon preserve (overnight in Cayucos).
Note: Audubon access restricted to Mondays and Wednesdays,
Note: the low tides for Oct 23 and 24 are in the afternoon, so a visit to
Avila Beach to confer with the golf course manager could happen during the
morning of either day.,
Tues, Oct 25, Carmel River (travel from Cayucos in morning, field work in
afternoon) ,
Wed., Oct 26, Pillar Point (no tide constraints; start work early to be able to
spend as much time as possible.
